The Scion AV Installation Retail Space’s “The Gift Show” opens December 15, 2012, and kicks off with a reception from 7 to 10 p.m. The items featured in the show were donated by Scion’s community of artists and all proceeds from their sales will be donated to charity for Superstorm Sandy relief efforts.

The list of contributors who pitched in items including original artwork, test pressings, accessories and collectibles is long (and we appreciate every one of them), but here’s a spotlight on a few them, plus what they’ve got on offer.
Chrissie Abbott is a London-based illustrator and designer who work in multiple mediums. Her work appeared in the show “Close to a World Below” at the Scion Installation gallery and she participated as a panelist at the 2012 edition of the Scion Music(less) Music Conference.

Metal Blade Records has been releasing heavy music for 30 years. Born in Southern California and now a global force, they were early champions of legends including Slayer and Cannibal Corpse, and have kept on releasing amazing music for decades. Metal Blade recently partnered with Scion A/V for a label showcase that included performances by Six Feet Under, Cattle Decapitation, Battlecross, Gypsyhawk and Pilgrim.

Trent Call is an artist in Salt Lake City who continues to explore a variety of mediums, putting his distinct approach on all of them.

Trouble & Bass champions heavy bass sounds through insane releases and even insaner parties. Since this New York crew has been ruling for years, they have a monthly show on Scion Streaming Radio and released a mission statement label sampler on Scion A/V.

Also available at “The Gift Show” are ten RZA and David Choe collaborative prints depicting the Wu-Tang Clan. RZA will be at Scion AV Installation on Saturday night for the opening.
